How is unemployment benefit calculated?

Regulatory base: The average of your unemployment contribution bases over the last 180 days. It's approximated by your gross annual salary divided by 12 and is capped by the maximum contribution base.

Percentages: You receive 70% of the regulatory base for the first 180 days and 60% from day 181 onwards.

IPREM caps: The amount has a minimum and maximum based on the IPREM and dependent children: maximum of 175% (no children), 200% (1 child) or 225% (2 or more); minimum of 80% (no children) or 107% (with children).

Duration: It depends on the days contributed in the last 6 years: from 120 days of benefit (with 360 contributed) up to a maximum of 720 days (24 months) with 2,160 days contributed.
